Bridie and Troy's Wedding Day
October 3rd 2015
8:00am - Arriving at Bridie's parents house I was was overwhelmed at how quiet it all was. There seemed to be a great sense of peace in the room but at the same time you could feel the twinkle of excitement in the air. The girls had had little sleep but you wouldn't know it to look at them. Olive was busy applying the girls make up and doing an amazing job. Music was softly playing in the back ground as the hair dresses whipped up some gorgeous hair styles and little Hosanna the dog wandered around looking confused at what was going on.
Bridie had 3 of her sisters as bridesmaids and her best friend Amelia had the privilege of being her maid of honor.
The overwhelming feeling when the dress is on and you realise the dream you have been waiting for so long is actually here and its actually happening today. I think my heart skipped a beat here as well as memories flooded back to my wedding day. Nothing can describe the feeling that hits you when that dress finally sits upon your skin so perfectly and knowing that the next time that dress is hanging up you will be married to the love of your life.
The stunning Olive was up very bright and early and did an incredible job of the girls make up.
What a great idea! Why wouldn't you want to be comfortable on your wedding day. Especially a very hot wedding day with hours on your feet. Wedding kicks with a bit of bling.
As we stood outside Bridie's family home at 10am in the morning, the day was already heating up. The girls shared a few laughs before hopping into the wedding chariot.
Little did they know at this stage that there was a very live huntsman joining them for their journey into Geelong. Anna saved the day by grabbing it with her bare hands and throwing it out the window. True champion in my eyes.
10:30am - I always love the two different stories running parallel on a wedding day. The groomsman kicking back relaxed and almost ready to roll. I was very surprised though to find them SO organised. I don't think I've ever met a group of guys so organised in my life. Not a thing out of place. Troy seem very calm and collected at this point and was surrounded by a great bunch of guys. Brother Jason had the position of best man and did a fantastic job as an experienced groom. Younger brother Will not so bright though as the poor thing had been sick most of the night but he did so well to brave it up for the day.
Mum jumped at the chance to give her son a big smooch. It shows mums love can still bring a grown man to tears.
11:45am - I met up with Bridie and her family in Newtown at her grandmothers house. The wind was blowing like crazy but the weather otherwise stunning. I made my way to the front door where I caught a glimpse of Bridie playing with her little flower girls. Dressed up like little princesses they were in awe of Bridie in her beautiful dress. Although the girls were a little taken back by the cameras and were keen to find mummy, we did manage to catch a few moments.
Their smiles and laughing were contagious. Sharing funny stories with her best friend about things they should or shouldn't include in wedding speeches. "Best friends are the people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter and live a little better"
These feet are about to walk down the isle and start a whole new chapter in life. A new beginning of fun, laughter and memories made.
